"This is the perfect spot for us"

I was born in Pakistan in 1967 in Azad. It's a part of Kashmir under Pakistani control. Economically it was quite a poor area. There wasn't much industry, it was all agriculture, homegrown agriculture - they grew their own crops. Everyone had to do a bit of agricultural work to feed the family. My mother used to speak about crop cutting, the harvesting and how hard it was. They used their sickles. They used to have about three weeks of torture. It's alot easier now; you have combine harvesters and tractors.
